All children have their own developmental rhythm and this we must respect. In The Children’s House, we give children the time they need to follow their own rhythm without any interruptions or interference either from adults or other children. In this way they are able to concentrate and apply themselves to their interests without feeling any time pressure. They can choose an activity, work with it as long as they wish and then, when finished, return it to its place on the shelf. Being able to complete such a cycle of activity allows children to feel calm and satisfied. This deep satisfaction is what feeds their love of and enthusiasm for further exploration and learning.
